I sought the stars and
found the moon smiling,
bringing back
the memory
of that night
when our fingers crossed
for the first time
my heart beats fast
and loud enough
to whisper its secrets now,
without a doubt

In my waiting
I have prayed hard
and asked
for strength to be patient
and wisdom to understand
what I cannot,
In deep silence, I learned
to believe
in what seems to be
impossible
for a moment, hope was lost
but I was constantly assured
of His promises
that one day,
what I hope for,
shall truly happen

and now here I stand,
at the end of
that journey,
looking back to the
days of trusting and
growing,

these tears of gratitude
keep falling, drowning me
like how I was submerged
in Love
I cannot thank God enough
for every moment
that came to pass
–even the pain of being apart
that was allowed to prepare
us for our future,
the days when we had to
battle those sleepless nights,
crying and praying together,
struggling to face the coming days
because of our
failures and limitations

but God is gracious,
through forgiveness
He has restored the joy
that was stolen
all these kept us closer to God,
the ultimate source of
our strength,
peace and comfort

our love
that was tested
through time and distance,
and all the circumstances in between
bound by faith
which kept us alive
for days and months
and for many more years
to come

today I cherish,
tomorrow I’ll treasure even more
for this I’m sure
that always, do I vow
to choose you,
over and over
love you in every language,
in every way possible,
no matter the situation
may it be rejoicing or grieving,
winning or losing
I will stay

love is a pursuit,
an everyday decision
to keep fighting,
keep trusting
we have learned to cling
to the everlasting Love
that has bound us together
from the start of
our journey

and if I would be
rewarded of
an infinite lifetime,
or maybe another,

I will still choose you
and love you
always,
in all ways

4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
