we ought not to lower
our standards
just ’cause others say
we’re losing time
for we are not
life is a race
but we aren’t in a rush
our season is here
embrace it
savor it

there’s so much to do
and learn in the waiting

we don’t have to give in
to peer pressure
or resemble our lives
with that of others

let not someone else’s story
dictate yours

your destiny has already
been written
is it not worth waiting?
the sweetest, most genuine
joy comes from trusting
and obeying
the One who holds your heart
