like tiny feathers
floating in the sky
swiftly
scattered by the wind,
unchased, unseen then
careful what you listen
neither false nor true,
it’s not yours to spill
fasten thy mouth
be not like others
who bruit about,
many have fallen
in the trap
stirring up anger
hatred
hurt
how many more lives
will it ruin
when it reaches the
ears of the indiscreet
should you add more wood
to the burning coals?
by no means
keep thy lips
from saying that which was
borrowed
or stolen
much more to
the unproven
one cannot take back
what was spoken,
once fallen,
a lot can be broken
let thy thoughts be pure
be wise
and kind enough
to sweep the litter
break the cycle
be the water
that kills the deadly fire
