hold on and chase
the moonlight’s gleam
in the coldest of nights;
may we always find joy
in the littlest thing
that keeps us alive
in spite of hardships
and suffering
may we still cling
to the faith that we were
born of
even when clouded by
weakening thoughts
may our confidence
in the possibility of miracles
and the existence of Love
remain
may we not lose hope
in people and
believe in the chance of
forgiveness,
a changed heart,
and a renewed vow
though we bear
the marks of a broken past
may we not forget
our truest self
and the purpose
of our living –
to love and be loved
to laugh, cry,
savor,
fail and learn,
hurt and yearn,
be mindful of others
and of self
that in all things,
may we give thanks
come what may
