change is the death
of familiarity
to the immutable,
the destruction of
one’s sanctuary
an imperative march
to the infinite unknown
in such worriment
we come to rest
cowered
at the sight
of an avalanche
of threats
from the
foreboding
distant reality
but what on earth
are we here for
if we for ourselves
allow the steadiness
of what Fear
prepares at the table
hindering us
from transcending
into what is meant;
out of the cracks
of our self-crafted
cage comes
anxiety,
but also
courage
the breaking
is too much of a blessing
for it gives birth
to the beginning
of something more
– the building of
stone pillars
that will hold
the vessel of dreams
that have been kept hidden,
concealed artistry
and gifts that are
yet to be seen
so much to learn
so much to yearn
what do we
gain from hiding?
what is there
to behold
if we remain
adamant
in taking the
unprecedented step
to flee from
our own
echo chamber,
not to solely
dismiss
our thoughts
but welcome
the new experiences
residing
in the
foreign outside
discovery
is what life
has gifted
us
like a never-ending
treasure hunt;
the will
and satisfaction
never reaching
their fullness
for life has
many to offer
that none
can contain
the future’s
shadow
shines
brighter than
the stars
waving,
as she sings
the melody
of her unheeded call
(a repetitive performance)
should we hold back?
should we wait
with the awe-stricken
audience
and forever
applaud
the roller-coaster
wonders of being,
or shall we
become one
with
the dauntless
artists
in this life’s
theatrical play?
