summer nights

I was looking at the sunflowers this morning –
their colors were soaked in tears. I remember it was the rage of a storm two nights ago.

Gone are the days of the sun.

Gaping at the view of what I thought was my promised land, I convinced myself with the realization that summer will never be always about sunshine and white sand and all those beautiful bright colors of the sky.
There’s also the cold lonely nights, riptides, wild towering waves of the sea; the probability of storms and hurricanes that would force you to step out of your cozy comfort zone.

At this point I agreed with myself: there will be days without the warm rays of the sun. No flowers, no trees, no butterflies. Seasons change.

There is no permanence in this life we live. Time will one day confound us with a revelation that what once we thought was a safe place, can be a place of trouble.

We could not predict what will and can happen inside our self-made haven. But what we can do is to accept what lies ahead, what welcomes the present, and transition to our new paradise. Even without certainty, we should not stop living.
