Like a fugitive
I ran the fastest my feet can
trying to escape
and hide
from the very world I live in

I was getting weak
and tired
from the shooting stars
which I once thought
were dancing dreams
but turned out to be
hopeless nightmares

I was a wretch
with a failed attempt
to free myself
from my dying heart

that I could hold on to

gasping

I shivered in the cold

that’s when You found me

Your love has found me
in the deepest well
of dry water
where my heart was drowned
by the emptiness
of my soul

I was thirsty
and you refreshed me
with my very own
fountain of tears
as I lay at Your feet
I felt healing
You held me close
to Your chest
and I heard
Your heart beating

every beat calls my name

You gave me hope
a reason to start anew
a second chance
and a million more
for a wayward child
like me

I looked at You
my face dampened
and wet
You smiled at me
told me I’m pretty
and You made me feel
that things will get better

that’s when I knew
that I am forgiven,
safe and secure
in Your love
all these I don’t even deserve
yet You freely give

cos that’s just who You are
